What to Expect

Sundays at Gracecity are warm, engaging and relaxed. When you walk in, you may notice that the church if full of people of many different ethnic backgrounds. We love that our church reflects the cultural diversity of Tāmaki Makaurau. If you’re thinking about what is appropriate to wear, know that you are free and welcome to wear whatever you wish. Being a multicultural and multigenerational church, clothes on a Sunday can range from shorts and jandals to suits and ties. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest!

In total, a service is about 90 minutes in length. Though it may vary from time to time, services generally begin with the band leading the church in music – song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. These songs are generally contemporary Christian worship songs – click here to listen to the current playlist of songs we sing!

After the music portion of the service, our service hosts will update the church on things happening in our community, and we may witness child dedications or testimonies during this time. Following this, one of our pastors will share an encouraging and hope-filled message from the Bible.

At the end, we encourage everyone to stay and engage in community after the service.

We have something for kids from birth through to Year 8. They’ll experience music worship with the whole church before heading to the preschool, primary, and intermediate spaces for learning, play, and prayer. We have an amazing staff and volunteer team, who will care for and love your kids. We have Friday night ministries for high school-aged youth.

Your children’s safety is of utmost importance to us. All our volunteers over the age of 16 are reference-checked, police-vetted, and have received child protection training. We have a digital check-in system to ensure every child is accounted for.

We’d love you to join us at our next Explore Gracecity

If you’re new at Gracecity or if you’ve been coming for a while and have yet to connect with any of our staff we'd love to have you join us at our next Explore Gracecity.

We would love to meet with you and welcome you into our Gracecity family!
